It’s a Marketplace for concerts”, Antoine says, and what makes it unique is “its focus on the bands and the community.” As well as putting up concerts for music fans, the team want to create a marketplace where anyone - venues, companies and people - can find a great artist for a live concert.

It was at the Adopt a CTO event over the summer that Antoine met Bandsquare’s CEO Chloé. A music fan himself (“electronic and hip hop” to be precise), Antoine was immediately interested in Chloé’s idea. “I was looking for an ethical project and to have fun”, he explains. “We were working in a friend’s office in early September when I dropped the idea of going to Le Camping to Chloé. We wanted to go to a structure where we could talk to fantastic mentors. For us, this was the best place.

Two weeks into Season 5 at Le Camping, and it’s going “great”, according to Antoine, “lots of acceleration and interesting meetings”. He has found one major problem, though… that the days are too short! Luckily, there are three and a half exciting months ahead at Le Camping, and Bandsquare have already achieved a lot: on the 10th December they ran their 2nd concert at the bar L’Orphée where soul artist Elodie Ji performed.

The future is certainly looking bright for Bandsquare. Their next concert is on the 19th December at La Caféothèque and they’re expecting to attract a large crowd. They are also planning on moving into different genres. Today Bandsquare targets jazz and soul artists, and is opening the platform to pop rock and electro.

With successful concerts under their belt and ambitious plans to expand, Bandsquare are showing no signs of slowing. Watch this space…
