Qleek by Ozenge is the latest hardware project accelerated by Le Camping to fall under the spotlight.

They need your support to hit the $70, 000 target and launch production later this year. Here is their story.

Physical media has been cast aside in favour of online giants Spotify, Youtube and Netflix

The advantages of keeping media in online files, available at the click of a button, are clear.

Yet traditional media forms still occupy a place in the hearts of many. The vinyl revival and Instagram’s vintage filters suggest a nostalgia for a time when we slid vinyls out of sleeves, and we flicked through a photo album.

How to unite fading physical media with a digital society?

Enter Qleek.

Qleek: the convenience of the new with the simplicity of the old

A wooden box is the player, on which you place a hexagonal wooden disk called a ‘Tapp’. No need for wires or even to press a button, the content plays right away on the relevant screen or speakers

Product designer Ismail Sahli, PhD in computer science Pierre-Rudolf Gerlach and designer Johanna Hartzheim, have been working together since 2012 to perfect Qleek and its simplicity for the final user.

With its beautiful aesthetics and meticulous design, Qleek is bringing soul back to our cultural lives. Personalisation of Tapps is in the hands of the user; it embodies the modern mixtape.

Less than a week into their Indiegogo campaign, they have raised an amazing 50% of their target and attracted the attention of Techcrunch and Wired.

"Beyond funding, the indiegogo campaign is already a huge benefit for us,” Ismail says, “we have tons of important feedback on Qleek from paying and non paying customers, we have a better idea of what people expect from the project and what experience they are awaiting."
